Fort Sumter & Fort Sumter & Fort Moultrie, Charleston, South Carolina

These were taken in 1987 ,we had taken my dad who had cancer back to Charleston . He enjoyed that city, We would go down to White Point Gardens and go crabbing , he really got a kick out of doing that. He and I went to Patriots point to see the USS Yorktown, they had a picnic table on the fantail and he and I just sat there and talked, I never felt so close to my Dad as that day. He and I were always together in everything, but I knew as I sat there with him ,our time was short. But through that cancer I saw him smile again ,and the day was perfect. The People at the gate to the bridge that went over to the ship ,opened it and let us drive him down to the steps so he would not have to walk . I lost Dad in March 1988, I have lived that loss everyday in what will soon be 24 years.
