Invitation: Lee-Jackson Banquet

6:00 pm on January 21, 2012
King's Restaurant on US 70 east in Kinston , NC

The Goldsboro Rifles, The Dr. B. T. Person and the Smithfield Light Infantry Camps are hosting the 2012 Lee and Jackson Banquet. You are invited to come and help us celebrate the birthdays of these two great men and Confederate Army leaders. It is General Lee's 205th and General Jackson's 188th birthday.

It is with utmost pride that we have as our speaker this year Mr. Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman of the North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission from Wilmington , NC .

We are very pleased to have as our entertainer this year, Mr. Jimmy Aycock, who is a very well known pianist here in eastern North Carolina . I know you will be as pleased with his musical offerings as many of us have been for years.

The meal will be served family style consisting of King's BBQ, fried chicken, Brunswick stew, slaw, potatoes, tea and hushpuppies.

If you would like to be a part of this special celebration, please send your check made out to Allen Aycock--$30.00 for a couple--$15.00 for a single to:

Allen G. Aycock, Sr.
1128 Aycock Dairy Farm Road
Fremont , NC 27830

by January 14th.

Please feel free to pass this along to anyone that you think might like to attend. You don't have to belong to the SCV to be a part of this celebration, it is open to all Gen. Lee and Gen. Jackson admirers.

We will be having a silent auction again this year to raise money for the Gen. Joseph E. Johnston monument. We encourage you to please bring items for the auction. All donations will be greatly appreciated. Who knows, someone else may bring just what you have been looking for and you theirs. Items do not have to be WBTS theme items, just anything you would like to donate to help us pay for the monument.

For questions, you may email me at gnfields@msn.com or call me at 919-778-9565.

Hope to see you at the banquet,
Glenn Fields
